This is Ziggy Marley and if you recognize him it's because you've probably seen and read about him on Beth Connolly's blog. On Beth's blog, her latest post shows a photo of Ziggy proudly wearing his well deserved blue ribbon for mastering an advanced obedience course. The photo I used for this painting was taken by an incredible photographer, Lisa Prince Fishler who, along with Beth, granted me permission to paint Ziggy. Please visit both of these sites; I appreciate this community of bloggers and artists so very much, everyone is very willing to share, support, and encourage. Thank you so much Beth and Lisa!
This was one of those rare paintings where the time flew quickly and before I knew it Ziggy was signed and ready for posting. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting; it means so much to me!

How could you resist those eyes! I like the cropping and the light gives it a lovely feel
Angela you did an amazing job! You totally captured the essence of Ziggy, Beth will be thrilled! Thanks for the kind words about my photography site - let me know if there's every another image you are interested in painting! Cheers! * Lisa
Oh my God, he is gorgeous!!! Hard to see through tears though!!! I absolutely love it!! Thank you!!!
Love this...as well for all of your recent Dog Portraits. The background on this works so beautifully with the browns and purples in his coat. Excellent show of emotion!
Marvelous portrait. I also like your unusual composition and the nice greens of the background.
Very sweet portrait, Angela - beautiful job.
Ziggy is really wonderful Angela! This is a blue ribbon painting!!
Thank you all very much. You know as well as I do when you have a great photo with superb lighting, it makes all the difference in the world. I just finished another one last week of a black lab and had to work with a color xerox copy, way difficult, but the final results were good and the client was happy. My new one right now is a little chinese crested...the hairless kind...too cute!
Oh yea! I can finally leave a comment on your blog...I've tried soooo many times, but the other format never worked for me. Anyway, this portrait is wonderful! You could put me out of work if you pursued dogs full time! :)
Beautiful - I love how you worked with the light on this Miss Angela! thanks for your comment on my bloggy, that is fascinating - hope you are well!
Thanks so much for visiting and commenting. Hope all is well with each of you!
