SUNKISSED

8x8 oil on canvas panel
Another little painting for James Parker's blog. I was a little late with my submission, but James posted it for me...thank you Mr. Parker! The photo reference for this painting was delightful to work with; however, photographing this particular painting and getting it ready for posting proved to be very problematic. I don't know why the colors are so washed out...oh, well I tried.

I've not been the best blogger lately, but hope that you know that I appreciate your visits and comments. I would like to add a slide show of more pets posing with their paintings; however, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it. If you know how and don't mind sharing the "slide show secret", could you please e-mail me? :-)

Angela, this is one beautiful (and fat! LOL) kitty! You can create a slideshow in photobucket.com (click the slideshow tab and follow the instructions, fairly easy). Then you just use the proper link as you would were you to post a photo to post the slideshow. (Hope that helps...)

So sweet, Angela--you really conveyed the peace of a cat in the sun.

This kitty has such a Zen quietness to her. The style of the painting, the position of the body, everything strikes me as beautifully Oriental. Love the way you suggested details but left them to our imaginations. Really lovely!

Thank you all. I cringe, literally shudder, when I see the quality of this photo, ugh! Never think you can photograph a wet painting, especially one that has such a sharp contrast between lights and darks. We've been experiencing a very wet fall, which makes for slow drying time on my canvases, but this one will definitely get rephotographed asap.

Thank you for your e-mails and suggestions about the slide thing. Jay is on to figuring out the technical stuff so I can just paint, teach, do laundry, and of course clean house :-)

Nancy, I'll let you know if he's going to do it on IPhoto. I happen to like IPhoto, but he prefers Lightroon -- do you have L.R.?

Michelle, I'm happy to know Sunkissed is actually Lurkie, love the name!!
