BEAGLE IN WAITING

8x10 oil on sketchbook moleskine nfs

It was my turn to paint something in Camille Olsen's moleskine, and this is my contribution for her theme of peace. There is more information about this little painting on The Flying Moleskins blog; you can read about it here.

I am also a graphic designer just starting out my career and I think it's wonderful that we have so many options we can explore, like teaching or freelancing. I used to paint a lot in school, but I haven't had the time to pick up a decent brush in years. Your work is really nice! I like it a lot! Keep it coming!

Angela! Look at those beautiful liquid brown eyes! This Beagle baby is gorgeous! I love the idea of the flying moleskins, though I am a bit relieved I wasn't asked to participate! I'd have ruined sketchbooks for sure!! I think Camille will be awed! I sure am!

sweet sweet painting, Angela. I love the doleful, expectant expression. You can paint a dog in my book any day ;-)

Beautiful work Angela. Somehow I doubt any of the moleskin project artists would ever object to your pet portraits, you are the master of pet portraits! xoxoxo PS - when do you have time to get together again lady?

I'm in awe of this wonderful brushwork that is at once loose and yet shows your expert hand. The palette is awesome -- can't wait to have it in my possession. Thank you, Angela!

It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Your beagle's eyes reveal warmth, love and devotion, and remind me so much of my Cleo, from years past, that it chokes me up. Exquisite, Angela.

Angelia, I love your long flowing brushstrokes and unique style that is all your own. You have a special way of capturing the spirit of each pet you paint. This one is especially nice!

What a great choice for your moleskin contribution. This beagle evokes nothing, if not peacefulness. Beautiful painting. I also love the strong darks against the deep red in "Iggy." Two of my favorites.
