This is Karin Jurick's newest challenge on the DSFDF blog. Because of Karin's beautiful figure paintings and her biweekly challenges, I am practicing painting figures much like this one. We were to focus on the entire figure; however, I cropped this a little differently. It is evident I have so much to learn, but that's why I'm here. Thanks for visiting!

Wonderful job on this, Angela! I like your setting much better than the original. He looks peaceful and retired instead of tired and on break.
You did such a great job on the figure!
Yes, he does look quite content, Angela. Nice work. And your puppy dogs are linked and munching doggie biscuits over at WTTW. Thank you so much for your participation.
Really nice, Angela, you've added so much more interest than the original photo. Great format too.
Oh my Angela.... what a wonderful rendition of the challenge. It's always such eye pleasure to see your work.
I can see him selling at the market.
Very nice Angela, you don't appear to have any issues with doing the figure and !your lovely setting made him appear like a happier guy
like your take on the challenge,he looks serene and at peace with the world.
Love the setting you created - very nice work on this!
Well done, Angela! The setting and crop work great. He's very recognizable. His left hand is very well done...hands are usually difficult.
Angela...thanks for the comments on my challenge. This entry and your other paintings are very strong in your choice of color and your final brush work. You seem to know exactly what finishing strokes are needed to add the necessary "Wow" factor.
Nice work, Angela- i like your version very much. It is a small painting but it feels larger because of your nice, soft details and interesting places for your eyes to go to.
Angela, what a great entry with your flowers as the perfect accessory. You have nothing to worry about with your figurative work, he's so well done!
I love the added market scene. Very nice
Angela, your style is just lovely.
