A VERY BUSY WEEKEND

In addition to painting up a storm during Spring Break, I ended my Spring Break week with a plein air outing on Saturday morning. The 2nd photo is a shot of Rex Morgan amongst the red bud trees in a beautiful area of Dallas called Turtle Creek.

Sunday was a very busy day, as well. We visited the Dallas Arboretum (3rd photo), which is on White Rock Lake and I got to meet Nancy Medina and see her awesome paintings in person. In addition to meeting Nancy, she introduced me to her blogging/painter friend, Judy Mackey, who just happens to be a long ago high school friend of our very own, Sheila Tajima. I love the way this blog community works...who would have thought the internet, the DSFDF blog, and a whole bunch of great artists and people could connect through a   laptop... WOW!

Nancy and Judy are planning on painting with us this Saturday at the same Turtle Creek location. If any of you are in the Dallas area and would like to join us for some plein air painting, please e-mail me and I'll forward the info to you.

thank you for putting up a picture of my art booth on your blog Angela! it was great to meet you on Sunday in person. I'm looking forward to joining you guys for some plein air painting over the weekend. If it stays windy I will have to remember to bring my rock bag to weigh down my pochade box. : )

That sounds so much fun! Maybe one day we should have a DSFDF meeting! I know one DSFDF participant offered his motel for that purpose!

Nancy - I'm excited we'll get to paint together and introduce you to some new painting buddies. Your paintings are beautiful and were lovely set against the oh so beautiful arboretum.

Sheila - How incredible would that be, you're definitely the cheerleader and organizer of the group, I vote you in charge!

Dominique - Reunion, Yes! Beast, Yes! Thanks for dropping in; I loved reading and seeing your pictures from your trip.

Liz - unbelievable, that we could connect that way. The arboretum is beautiful, but go to Nancy's blog because she has posted much better photos and a huge variety. Thanks for visiting and you are very welcome.

Edward - I so appreciate you visiting me; thank you. I have never painted there, but hope to very soon. Because of your love for roses, I know you would be amazed with the flowers and gardens.

Judy - What a treat it was to meet you; I do hope you can paint with us one Saturday! And just think, I now know someone who knows our Sheila. :)

What a treat to see Turtle Creek in the Spring again...thanks for sharing! I spent many days driving around there gazing at the beauty when I attended SMU in the '80s!
