AZALEA

8x10 oil on canvas
This is my first painting for the Art for the Animals blog. Meet Azalea, a sweet happy little girl looking for a new family to adopt and love her. She was removed from a Dallas shelter after being there for over 100 days. Azalea is in a foster home and is described as a 2 year old Lab/Shepherd mix that is most affectionate, loves playing fetch, and gets along with her foster family's pets.

I fell in love with her happy girl face and love the one black polka-dot on her tongue. This portrait is my gift for whomever adopts Azalea.

You know Angela I would have said all those things you did about Azalea just from looking at your painting. She looks like a happy, attentive fun dog:o)

Angela, it's great to meet Azalea. You did a wonderful job, and what a great idea for a blog! Talk about pulling at the heart strings. Paintings of these animals has to add so much to their chance of finding a great home. Really beautiful work!

Hi sweet Angela
Your heart and your hands painted such a soulful painting of Azalea.
The feeling from the painting -
makes it feel like she is right here, wagging her tail.
Such talented artistry you have,
love

OMG! I was just emailed this link and was SO touched to see this! I am the one who pulled Azalea (now called "Z") out of Dallas Animal Services (after she had been there for around 110 days and red listed for EU). We have been fostering her now for 2 weeks and she is such an angel! We fell in love with her immediately. I had no idea about this portrait and I am moved to tears seeing it! This portrait is just as touching & beautiful as is the gesture! Thank you!
